I hold a BA in Literature from Kings College, London, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #50206) and have worked in various psychotherapy settings, contemplative practice settings, intensive group therapy process settings and advanced clinical training settings for nearly a decade. I bring personal maturity, self-knowledge, authenticity and resilience to my work with clients.
I also bring to my psychotherapy practice a great deal of entrepreneurial and marketing experience including the representation of buyers and sellers of homes in San Francisco over a period of more than fifteen years. This particular role has involved wearing many hats and building close, long-lasting and trusting relationships with individuals and couples from a wide variety of occupations. My professional background, which goes well beyond the mental health field, provides me with a practical, real-world perspective around the areas of right livelihood, money and work-life balance.
My psychotherapy practice is also informed by a great interest in writing, literature and the creative process, by the experience of parenting two children, and by a passionate interest in developmental psychology, psychoanalytic theory, and contemplative / mindfulness-based practice.
Raised and educated in England, Ireland and North America, I bring a unique, multicultural perspective and particular sensitivity to the needs of clients who find themselves “in between” cultures.
